| Cement and Gypsum |
It is used as an accelerator to increase the hydration rate of cement. The main ingredients that give concrete its strength are Calcium Silicate Hydrate (CSH), which is formed more quickly when potassium ions (K+) combine with cement particles. The setting time of gypsum is accelerated by the addition of potassium sulfate. Potassium Sulfate produces gypsum board (drywall), plasters, and other gypsum-based products more quickly by interacting with gypsum to speed up its setting time.

Potassium Sulfate Structure:

Potassium Sulfate Production Process:
In the industrial method, the reaction between sulfuric acid and Potassium Chloride produces Potassium Sulfate. This method is the most commonly used in the industrial process.
